60 throwers from Europe held the European Boomerang Championships in Potsdam’s Volkspark at the weekend.
Guest participants from the USA and Australia as well as the reigning world champion André Caixeta will also be there, said Meike Opri from the German Boomerang Club on Saturday. The field of participants also included multiple world champions such as Manuel Schütz from Switzerland and Fridolin Frost and Alex Opri from Germany.
Until Sunday afternoon, the throwers will compete in six disciplines: These include competitions in throwing accuracy, long-term throws with light boomerangs made of carbon fiber or speed, as Meike Opri explained. The overall winner will be determined by Sunday afternoon.
Spectators were also able to get active at the European Championships and build their own boomerangs in workshops. The throwing devices could be tried out on a marked field.
