European adventure handball players VZV ends in Málaga after two defeats

The handball players of VZV have been eliminated in the eighth finals of the EHF European Cup. The team of coach Rolf Schutte lost to Costa del Sol Málaga both Friday and today. As a result, the Spaniards continue to convert.

It was already a hell of a job for the handball players from ‘t Veld to undo Friday’s defeat. The first match went with 35-19 lost.

VZV offered more resistance against the title holder on Sunday, who played with the handbrake a bit. However, the team turned out to be no match for the superpower. Just after the break, Malaga laid the foundation for the victory with a short intermediate sprint (17-12). In the final phase, VZV came close thanks to Romé Steverink, Esma Staal and Anna Buter, who all scored four goals. It was to no avail and VZV lost the match 22-25.

After the defeat, VZV can fully focus on the competition again. The team is currently fourth.
