Europe wants to compensate climate damage in poor countries, but climate summit does not address the cause: “Little enthusiasm to get rid of addiction to fossil fuels” | Environment

The climate summit in Egypt is going into extensions. This morning the European Union made a breakthrough when it agreed to set up a loss and damage fund to help poor countries in the face of climate disasters. But emissions reduction commitments are inadequate, making this conference – yet again – a missed opportunity to address the root cause of the problem.
