Europa League final: sound problems on RTL

The whole of football Germany looked to Seville on Wednesday evening – and switched on the private broadcaster RTL for the Europa League final. The first complaints emerged shortly after kick-off.

Only a few minutes after kick-off, the first spectators complained via Twitter. The reason: sound and picture were delayed on TV, commentator Marco Hagemann and co-commentator Steffen Freund were always a few seconds too late. Even a good 40 minutes after kick-off, the problem was not resolved.

In the 51st minute, commentator Marco Hagemann apologized for the sound problems and hoped that “everything will come home smoothly.”

The private broadcaster already had sound problems with its reporting in the preliminary reporting. For example, the microphone had to be replaced several times.
