EuroMillions winner has finally reported: woman gets 1 million thanks to ticket of 2.5 euros | Inland

The special draw took place on January 21 this year. Eight Belgians won a million euros, but one winner did not claim his winnings. The National Lottery launched an appeal and it paid off. The winner reported to Brussels earlier this week with the winning game ticket and the correct My Bonus code.

It concerns a woman from the province of Walloon Brabant. According to the National Lottery, she is between 35 and 44 years old and played in a newsagent in Louvain-la-Neuve for the minimum amount of 2.5 euros.

The woman told the National Lottery – which guarantees her identity – that she occasionally plays in Lotto or EuroMillions for a special occasion. This time it was the ‘Shower of Millionaires’ promotion.

After the draw, she saw the National Lottery’s call for the eighth winner, but she didn’t answer it because she had already checked her five numbers and two stars and knew she hadn’t won. “It was only when the Lottery exceptionally released the winning My Bonus code that it realized it was an extra code that a player received for free for each combination played. To her own great surprise, that one code on her game ticket turned out to match the code in the press. A telephone call to the ‘Winners’ guidance’ cell of the National Lottery then quickly provided confirmation,” it sounds.

In the ‘Shower of Millionaires’ 100 winners of one million euros were drawn on top of the Jackpot in all participating EuroMillions countries. It was not the five correct numbers and two correct stars that determine the Jackpot that resulted in eight new millionaires in Belgium, but the My Bonus code on the players’ game ticket did.

In our country, five women and three men won. Five of them came from Flanders, three from Wallonia.
