Virtus returns to victory in the Euroleague, after the defeat against Monaco on February 9th and the defeat against Reggio Emilia in the Italian Cup. Valencia beaten with an excellent first half by Belinelli, who scored 16 points on 4/9 shooting. It ends 87-74. The only flaw in the evening in Bologna was the injury of Shengelia, who came off in the first period due to an ankle problem. Segafredo’s assault on the top four positions continues.

Start of the race full of errors. Valencia shows greater energy as revealed by the rebound data (14-11 for Mumbru’s men) who, however, devour many opportunities to go forward, missing many baskets near the rim. Bologna has some problems in containing the opponents’ defensive cuts and makes some naiveties in the offensive transition phase. The positive note for Banchi is called (as always) Belinelli. The number 3 leads Segafredo with 11 points (2/3 from 3). In general, the Bianconeri move the ball better (11 assists in the 20th minute) and are 44-32 at halftime, after a second quarter with 26 points scored.

Virtus starts again as they finished, thanks to a great impact from the men who came off the bench (Lundberg, Abass and Mickey), but experiences a moment of prolonged disruption and suffers the return of the Spaniards, pushed by the 18 points of Chris Jones and the 7 of ‘ex Ojeleye. The fourth quarter is pure administration for Virtus (with a good Pajola, who finishes with 6 assists). For Banchi’s men it is the seventeenth victory in 27 matches.
