The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich lost 72:78 (43:44) at Red Star Belgrade and are now the only team still without a win in the EuroLeague. The team of coach Andrea Trinchieri takes over the Red Lantern.
Even after five matchdays, Munich are waiting for their first win in the top European competition. In the end, the Bayern basketball team also lost out against Belgrade. “We made too many individual mistakes. In such a physical game, it’s the details that make the difference,” Trinchieri explained.
At the beginning of the game, Belgrade scored at will, Munich had already conceded 23 points after six minutes and were 15 points behind. The guests found their rhythm with the bench players on the floor. Bayern also defended with more concentration, took the lead at times in the second quarter and were up at the break at 43:44.

Vladmir Lucic brought Bayern up to 72:76 in the final phase, but the Bundesliga team was unable to turn the game around.
Debut for two FCBB newcomers
Cassius Winston led Bayern with 18 points, while Isaac Bonga and Elias Harris made their debuts after recovering from injuries. The German national player Bonga had missed the European Championships in the summer due to a foot operation and had moved to Munich from the NBA in North America.
