Euroleague: ALBA Berlin narrowly loses and stays last

Basketball double winner ALBA Berlin has had to accept the next defeat in the EuroLeague.

Three days after only the second defeat of the season in the league against permanent rival FC Bayern Munich, the Berliners lost on the international stage against the Lithuanian series champion Zalgiris Kaunas with 63:66 (27:33).

With just seven wins from 27 games, ALBA remains bottom of the table.

The best shooters on coach Israel Gonzales’ team were internationals Maodo Lo, Jaleen Smith and Luke Sikma, each with ten points, but overall Berlin only hit a weak 33 percent of his shots.

At the weekend, ALBA lost their lead in the table to Telekom Baskets Bonn after their first defeat after twelve league wins in a row.
