ALBA Berlin suffered a clear defeat in the Basketball EuroLeague against title contenders FC Barcelona led by German center Oscar da Silva.
The Berliners had no chance at 77:93 (39:51) and could not repeat their first leg coup. In December, coach Israel Gonzalez’s team surprisingly triumphed against Barcelona, who are in second place in the premier class (74:70).
With five wins in 26 games, ALBA, together with ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, has the worst record of the 18 EuroLeague teams and has nothing to do with the race for the playoff places.
In the second quarter, the title contenders took the lead with an 11-0 run. The Albatrosses did some cosmetic work in the final period (26:13).
At Barca, Oscar da Silva, who wore the ALBA jersey in the 2021/22 season, impressed with ten points and ten rebounds. Tim Schneider was the most accurate for Berlin (14).
