EuroCIS 2022 | Digital signage & news integration

From February 15 to 17, 2022, the retail industry will meet again in Düsseldorf after a year-long break. The trade visitors can look forward to concentrated innovations, as they lacked the appropriate stage in 2021.

Bütema AG is also exhibiting – in Hall 9, Stand A25. This time our focus is on digital signage and self-service applications.

This and the following articles provide an overview of the focus topics of the upcoming trade fair.

Digital signage

The digital signpost is ideal for houses with several floors to offer customers quick orientation. In our digital signage software, all content of the signpost can be adjusted at any time. Areas for time-limited campaigns such as Carnival or Easter can also be displayed as a ticker, for example. The signpost is touch-enabled and customers can choose from up to 7 languages ​​at the touch of a button.

The digital signage book is an excellent opportunity to make product catalogs, lookbooks and information brochures interactively accessible at the point of sale. Standard formats such as .pdf or .jpg files are loaded into the content management system and can then be animated on the screen like a book. The book can be used without much effort, for example in waiting areas, to emotionalize customers.

With the new releases for our digital signage software, some exciting features were added, which above all deepen the subject of freer design, statistics and planning. Thanks to Zone Promotions, a single screen can be divided into several freely definable areas (= zones); Each zone can be assigned its own promotion.

Statistics can be viewed for all types of display: after This feature is particularly useful when advertising time is rented to third parties and a detailed list of the displayed items is essential.

The new planning and forecasting tool provides information even before the start of a promotion whether all promotion items can be played without errors or whether, for example, an empty container mix has been accidentally installed. Whole editorial plans can be viewed in a table on a weekly basis.

Functions are little helpers that make it possible to quickly implement customer requests that are not included in the basic version of our software. They supplement promotion items with freely definable rules. An example would be: “Only show the Facebook post with the most likes”.

News integration

Anyone who frequently takes the S-Bahn in Berlin, Munich or Stuttgart knows them: the large screens that tirelessly provide those waiting with information on politics, business, sport or the features / panorama. Not only do they pass the time until the next train, they also provide brief and up-to-date information about what’s going on in the world.

We have therefore teamed up with a digital news agency in order to be able to offer our customers this service as part of our digital signage software.

Based on the functions, the news feed is set up once by our developers. The user can then select the feed as a promotion item. Thanks to the already implemented zone promotions, the RSS integration created in this way can now either be broadcast over the entire screen or within a defined zone – for example at the bottom of the screen like a “ticker”.
