Belgium, England and the Czech Republic will be the opponents of Italy in the Under 17 European Championship, scheduled in Albania from 19 May to June 1st. The Azzurrini of Massimiliano Favo, holders of the title conquered a year ago in Cyprus (with Camarda best player of the tournament), have conquered the qualification in recent days, except for full score in the group of the second phase hosted in Croatia (overcoming the hosts in the decisive match). “When you come to play a final phase of a European – stresses Favo – one opponent is worth the other. We have been inserted in a very balanced group, with teams that have a great football tradition. We must not underestimate anyone, nor forget that we are Italy and that we are reigning champions”.

In the other group Portugal – outgoing finalist -, France and Germany, together with Albania qualified by law as a organizing country. Four cities involved: Durazzo, Elbasan, Rrogozhinë and Tirana (final at the Kombëtare Arena, the stage in which Rome conquered the Conference League in 2022). Italy U17, we remember it, already has the pass for the category World Championship scheduled in Qatar from 3 to 27 November: an appointment we lack since 2019, when in Brazil the Italy of Carmine Nunziata stopped in the quarterfinals against the hosts.
