EU leaders agree on new package of sanctions against Russia

EU leaders agree on a new package of tough sanctions against Russia. These will have “enormous and serious consequences” for the country, they say, meeting at a scheduled summit in Brussels.

The sanctions affect, among other things, “the financial sector and the energy and transport sector”, the official conclusions of the summit stated.
