EU condemns shelling of residential areas in Donbass

The European Union condemned the shelling of residential areas in the conflict zone in the south-east of Ukraine, follows from statements on the organization’s website.

The EU condemns the use of heavy weapons and the indiscriminate shelling of residential areas, which is a clear violation of the Minsk agreements and international humanitarian law.

The DPR announced the continuation of explosions in the Donbass for several hours

The armed conflict in southeastern Ukraine escalated again in mid-February. The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics accused Kiev of planning to conduct a military operation in the Donbass. They began the evacuation of residents to Russia, as well as mobilization.

Kiev has repeatedly denied reports that the Ukrainian authorities plan to return uncontrolled territories by force. On the eve of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba emphasizedthat Kiev is counting on a diplomatic solution to the conflict. At the same time, he called the statements of the DPR and LPR part of “Russian propaganda”.
