Apple has received a fine of almost two billion euros from the EU Commission, but it plans to appeal the decision. In its own announcement, Apple criticizes Spotify, whose complaint in 2019 started a long process. Violation of EU competition law will cost Apple more than 1.8 billion euros, the EU Commission announced on Monday. According to the commission, Apple has prevented streaming services from telling their users about cheaper subscription contracts outside the App Store. Apple has also not allowed service providers to instruct their users to place orders outside the app.
