The sixteenth season of The prettiest girl in the class has already started.
brain tumor
Esther is 12 years old when she learns that her father has a brain tumor. A life with peaks and valleys follows. She says goodbye to her father several times, because doctors think he doesn’t have long to live. Against everyone’s expectations, he eventually lasts twenty years.
After the death of her father, she decides to divorce the father of her three children. She meets a new love and builds a nice life – until she doesn’t feel well. She has the same complaints as her father and feels that something is wrong. She is 40 years old when she is told that she has a brain tumor that cannot be helped.
Zest for life and positivity
The doctors say she still has a year and a half, but Esther herself doesn’t believe it. “My father once got the same message and he lived with it for 20 years – that’s what I’m going for.” Family and friends are amazed by the zest for life and positivity with which the prettiest girl in the class is in life, but she still has a hard time.
“I don’t know what carelessness is,” she tells the presenter. “From the age of twelve there was always something, that shapes you. And that sometimes gets you pretty hard. You just don’t have a choice in life. But there is always something positive to be found, you have to grab onto that. I don’t let anyone fool me.”

While I go to the #prettiestgirlinclass Look, I realize again how much suffering some people have to bear.
Esther is pragmatic, has a brain tumor and receives a lot of support. What an eventful life and what an example she is for others.
*extremely intense*
