Estavana Polman would also have laughed at candle story VI

Estavana Polman would probably also have laughed at Johan Derksen’s candle story if she had been in that conscious broadcast of Today Inside. “Then you will laugh too.”

Johan Derksen got the whole country over him after his much-discussed candle story, but also fellow laughers René van der Gijp and Steven Brunswijk were criticized. It was extra sour for Steven: he sat at the table at VI for the first time and immediately received a whole shit storm all over. Two days later, he distanced himself from VI on the talk show Op1.

Estavana responds

But what if Estavana Polman had taken Steven’s place? “I was glad I wasn’t in that broadcast, to be honest,” she admits in the online section In The Corridors

She would have laughed too, Estavana thinks. “Yes, listen: if René starts laughing, you laugh too. Then you also think: what an idiotic story this is! Then you will laugh too. Not because he’s supporting anything or anything. I do not believe that. I really don’t believe that.”

‘annoying for Steven’

How does she feel about Steven getting so much criticism? “Of course it’s annoying for that boy. He definitely didn’t mean that. I’m glad I wasn’t there.”

Johan, of course, deserved some contradiction, according to Estavana. “At that moment, you also have to be honest… When he tells a story like that you also think: what an idiot story, what are you saying, what a lijpo, act normal dude, old pervert!”

‘John is John’

Estavana no longer blames Johan. “Well, you know, Johan is Johan. I understand John too. If someone says to you: ‘Yes, apologies!!!’, then of course he will kick it.”

She concludes: “But in the end, in his own way, he just apologized and just said it was his fault.”
