The clothing group Esprit appoints Wolfgang Schlangmann as Managing Director of Esprit Europe GmbH. It’s not the only change in Europe.
Schlangmann is the successor by Leif Erichsen, who is resigning from his position on September 30th. Schlangmann will work in the European headquarters in Ratingen, Esprit announced on Friday.
The industry veteran was back in November promoted to the management of Esprit. Before joining Esprit, he worked at companies such as S.Oliver and ran clothing manufacturer Esscrown in Hong Kong.
“Leif made a significant contribution to the realignment of the Esprit brand in the difficult economic times in Germany and Europe. His efforts made our strong comeback possible,” managing director William Pak said in the statement.
New body for better cooperation
Esprit’s Chief Revenue Officer, Jin Pak, has been appointed Managing Director of a newly formed European Management Committee. The committee is to ensure “the local implementation of the Esprit strategy in the European markets”. The new management team will also promote cooperation between the headquarters in Europe and Hong Kong.
The committee is also intended to ensure better coordination and greater synergy between the international offices. The new body reports to the management of the Group’s headquarters in Hong Kong.
