eSports: Mouz misses title at IEM Dallas

In the final of the Counter-Strike tournament IEM Dallas, the Hamburg team Mouz missed their first major title since 2019. Opponent Ence achieved a premiere by winning the tournament.

“We felt good from the start. We never beat ourselves in this game,” said Ence captain Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer in an interview after the game. “I’m happy to finally win a big tournament. I hope it won’t be that long before the next title.”

At the CS:GO Major in Paris, Mouz failed in the preliminary round. Things went even better in Dallas, where the team only lost to Heroic in the group stage and prevailed in the lower bracket.

In the playoffs, Mouz initially knocked out Astralis around the in-form Nicolai “device” Reetz. The team took revenge in the semifinals against Heroic, actually the top favorite among the remaining teams.

Opponent Ence was in the final in Dallas for the third time in a row, but had missed out on the title so far. This year, the Finnish organization won their first triumph at an IEM tournament in a less exciting final against Mouz.
