Espanyol is outraged and describes as “unusual” that Lewandowski can play the derby

Hours after Barça announced with satisfaction that Lewandowski can play this Saturday’s derby, Espanyol reacted with a forceful official statement in which it described as “unusual” that the Pole is at the Camp Nou taking advantage of the “precautionary measure” imposed by a Madrid court. The blue and white club is outraged because just 24 hours before the match and “after ruling it out by the different competent bodies (Competition, Appeal and TAD) a precautionary measure has been agreed to a previously imposed sanction”.

“We consider that this precautionary measure totally extorts this day of the competition and us, our preparation for the match”

Mao Ye, CEO of Espanyol

In the same line of anger, Mao Ye, CEO of the blue and white club, expressed himself. “This decision seems unusual to us, finding ourselves with this fact 24 hours before a match. We consider that this precautionary measure totally extorts this day of the competition and us, our preparation for the match”, said the blue and white executive, stressing that “it is a strange situation because we don’t know of similar cases in other clubs or with us”.

Espanyol also regrets that “even though it is an indirectly involved party, it has only been able to access the resolution after requesting it from various bodies”, also outraged that “it has not been communicated to us, as established by procedural regulations”.

In its long statement, the blue and white club estimates that “the requirements are not met to justify the precautionary measure”, insisting that the sentence that approves this precautionary suspension of the sanction against Lewandowsi “speaks of irreparable damage to FC Barcelona without going into assessing irreparable damage to its rivals and to the competition without giving any possibility of recourse”.

“Despite the injustice, we are confident that our team and our coach tomorrow will compete 110% to match the trust of our people”

And Espanyol argues that “this last-minute decision totally conditions this day, which began this Thursday and the preparation for” the derby, for which reason it is considered that it suffers “an injustice taking into account the precedents with other clubs.”

Hence, the tremendous anger parakeet. “Despite the injustice, we are confident that our team and our coach tomorrow will compete 110% to match the trust of our people,” said Mao Ye, the CEO of Espanyol. An indignation also expressed by Joan Collet, former president of Espanyol. “I no longer thought to watch the game, but now even less. I don’t know if I’ll end up in jail, but you have to tell these people clearly”, said the former parakeet manager on ‘La Grada Radio’.
