Esko Eerikäinen got the role in the Secret Lives series

Radio presenter Esko Eerikäinen is taking over a whole new territory, as no previous acting experience was found in the man.

Eriikäinen’s character Petri will mix the pack on Pihlajakatu. The reaction of the audience is exciting, as Eerikäinen describes his role as bold. MTV

Radio presenter and media person Esko Eerikäinen, 48, will surprise with his completely new conquest, as the man will be seen today for the first time in the role of Petri in the series Secret Lives. The joke cast on the radio show eventually led to Eerikäinen’s first job as an actor.

– It’s a funny story. I was doing Radio Nova Noon then and Salkkarit turned years old. I interviewed the producers and the actor of the program Pete Lattua. In passing, I congratulated Pete on how great an achievement it has been for Salkkari to be on the program for so long. The only thing that annoys me is that I haven’t gotten involved in the series myself yet. I threw a little ironic joke, the man recalls in an interview with Iltalehti.

– By opening my mouth in the right place at the right time, I was able to do this, Eerikäinen adds.

The throw was rooted in the fact that there are several people in Eerikäinen’s close circle who have starred in a series loved by Finns. Among others, ex-wife Martina Aitolehti, mother of Aitolehti Anne Aitolehti as well as Hunks colleagues Sami Sarjula and Petri “Mauno” Ahonen have been part of the cast of the favorite series.

– Pete said then that he put it behind his ear and had really done so. They then asked to join when they were approached by email last fall.

So there was a role that was thought to suit Eerikäinen.

– I immediately wonder if the Lord God is serious! I called back right away and asked what the thing was, Eerikäinen repeatedly contacted the production.

Although the desire for the role had been in the mind before, jumping into Salkkari was not entirely a matter of course.

– I had to think a couple of times that I would dare to go to a TV series for a millionaires in that class. I’m no actor, I’m not even an amateur actor, I’ve never acted in anything. If I’ve been involved somewhere, I’ve done a cameo role or been a guest.

Panic struck

As for Eerikäinen, filming began in December, when he had just returned from the jungle I’m a celebrity, let me go! program descriptions.

– There was no phone in the jungle and I didn’t read miles. When I got home and opened the messages, I also opened the files from Salkkari.

– I looked at that amount of text and wondered how the Lord God would survive this! There was a terrible panic, I was wondering how I could do this, because there were a lot of turns. I called Salkkari right away and told me that panic struck.

However, Eerikäinen’s attitude towards production quickly calmed down – things would go through in sufficient detail, one day’s descriptions and remarks at a time. The man praises the Secret Lives working group profusely.

– I don’t remember when I was last excited about a job. There is a super comfortable work team. Everyone received kindly advice and guidance on everything.

– It felt like I was always there to do with them. And how professionally everything is done, a truly awesome experience, Eerikäinen sums up.

Eerikäinen wanted honest feedback and constructive criticism of his work from the series’ director, as the man had no previous acting experience. MTV

The curse of the Salkkarit actor would be a gift

Although Eerikäinen has been in public for a long time and has participated in several TV productions, the acting is completely new. He doesn’t think a previous career in public will ultimately be useful in the role of Salkkari – on the contrary.

– I talked Sami Uotilan with when people in the store recognize him as Akina or Pete (Lattu) is not called Pete but Kalle. The curse they have on everyday life when people can no longer tell who you are is my own wish at this point. I hope people don’t look “there’s Esko in there,” but that Petri is in it. I hope I succeed.
