Sero, the escaped zebra, was in stable condition and was examined by veterinarians Thursday evening, Choi Ye-ra of the Children’s Grand Park in Seoul said. She added that the zoo is now investigating how the zebra escaped. The media reported that Sero had partially destroyed the wooden fencing around his pen, but she did not confirm this.
Many videos are circulating on social media of the escaped zebra as it passed rows of cars at an intersection or as it walked through an alley. Police and emergency services eventually managed to circle the zebra. They injected him with sedatives and brought him back to the zoo. There were no injuries and no reports of property damage.
