Escalation between Tadic and Ajax Amsterdam – contract termination issue

Besiktas wants a free transfer deal

The situation between Dusan Tadic (34) and Ajax Amsterdam seems to be escalating. Unrest was initially caused by reports of an attempted poaching from Turkey for free, as a result of which the veteran offensive player no longer showed up for training in the Dutch capital during the week. After it became clear that Tadic had stayed away with the permission of the club’s management, the Amsterdam football world is now shocked that the Serbian international made an appearance at Ajax again on Thursday, but not for training, but for negotiations about terminating the contract that was valid until 2024.

Loud “Voetbal InternationalTadic and his advisor Milos Malenovic (“Soccer Mundial AG”) met with Ajax director Sven Mislintat on Thursday. What it was about leaked out quickly. It is now expected that Tadic will get his contract termination, which he had hoped for, in order to devote himself to a new challenge shortly. This, in turn, could be found in Istanbul at Besiktas, where, according to Turkish media, they made it a condition not to have to pay a fee for the second most frequently used player from the current squad at Ajax.

Financially, however, Tadic’s wish could also play into the hands of the Amsterdamers. The aim is to reduce salary costs (at Tadic an estimated EUR 6.5 million gross), the newspaper wrote “De Telegraaf“. However, that could also be a reason for Tadic’s urge to say goodbye. The winger is dissatisfied with Amsterdam’s purchasing policy. Ex-VfB boss Mislintat, who has only been in charge of Ajax since May after his time in Stuttgart and a short break, first wants to generate income from sales that can then be reinvested.

Tadic could be gone by then. The professional, who once cost 13.7 million euros, does not want to risk another weak season like the last one, in which they missed out on the championship as third in the table, 13 points behind Feyenoord and six behind PSV. And last but not least, the personal details of the trainer also persuaded Tadic to take the step. He wished that Johnny Heitinga, who had staged the season on an interim basis from January, would stay. Instead, Mislintat brought in Maurice Steijn from Sparta Rotterdam. The chaos that prevailed in Amsterdam last season has not been resolved for Tadic. He is said not to have appeared for training on Friday either.
