Lately, Smid had suffered from severe tremors and he could hardly speak. “People thought I was drunk,” said the singer in conversation with Show news. Since he woke up after the surgery, “the whole world has changed.”
“I’m super happy that I can type again, that I can enjoy people and that I can talk again,” Smid sums up. „I can enjoy the garden, my grandchildren. There has just been one more”, he refers to the birth of the son of his daughter Coosje.
“The disease itself continues, but the strange things that come with it now all come much later,” concludes Smid. “In principle, with such an operation you are thrown back into your illness for about 5 or 6 years. That’s fantastic.”
