Erling Haaland’s former clubs earn money from the transfer

The move from Erling Haaland to Manchester City is now a done deal. Borussia Dortmund collects a high sum of millions for the goalscorer. However, BVB is not the only one who can look forward to substantial income.

Like the Norwegian newspaper “Verden’s walk“reported, Haaland’s youth club Bryne FK is entitled to 1.6 percent of the transfer fee. The newspaper calculates that the club can adjust to the equivalent of 1.2 million euros.

However, “Verdens Gang” refers to the 75 million euros that BVB is said to have received from Manchester City.

According to information from “The Athletic”, the transfer fee stipulated in the exit clause should “only” amount to 60 million euros. In this case, Bryne FK would earn around 960,000 euros.

“Extraordinary income” for Haaland’s youth club

“We generate extraordinary income. There are millions that will be a pure profit for us. The club wants to use the money in the long term,” Bryne manager Hans-Oyvind Sagen is quoted as saying by “Verdens Gang”.

According to the newspaper, the money must be in the account no later than 30 days after the transfer is completed.

In addition to Bryne FK, Molde FK probably also earns money from the Haaland transfer. Accordingly, the Norwegian first division club, where the 21-year-old played before moving to RB Salzburg, receives one percent of the amount.

How much does BVB really collect for Haaland?

As Borussia Dortmund explained in an ad hoc announcement on Tuesday afternoonthe BVB management expects the Haaland transfer to have a “positive effect on the key earnings figures for the 2022/2023 financial year in the order of around 35 to 40 million euros”.

According to “WAZHowever, the amount mentioned is not equivalent to the transfer fee. After all, taxes, consultant fees and other settlements must be deducted from the money transferred by Manchester City.
