Ajax has to look for a new trainer. Erik ten Hag will start working for Manchester United from next season, in the Netherlands the goalkeeper carousel has been opened at PSV and Feyenoord, and a wonderful Champions League evening. Those are the ingredients of the AD Voetbalpodcast. Etienne Verhoeff talks to Johan Inan and Mikos Gouka.
,,It’s time. Ten Hag has got his dream transfer. Although many will think otherwise. Especially the people who know United”, Johan Inan starts the news about Ten Hag. De Tukker was a top candidate, but wanted to have a say in attracting players, says Inan.
,,Ten Hag wants to have a say in player policy. He wants to stimulate the players’ hunger and he wants to be guided as little as possible by the impossibilities within the club. United needs a big clean-up. And Ten Hag realizes that too. Then you should not be dependent on what the club management wants to achieve.”
The name Arne Slot soon falls as a replacement for Ten Hag. ,,I would try it if I were Ajax”, says Inan. ,,I don’t think Feyenoord will let him go. His contract has just been renewed. He still has two years. At the moment, I think it is unmentionable for Feyenoord,” said Gouka.
Bayern Munich were knocked out by Villarreal in the Champions League. ,,I started with that match”, says Gouka. ,,But the spectacle was in Madrid. So in the end you had to zap the whole game between Germany and Spain.”
