Without a club since Burnley relegation
Erik Pieters (34) has been without a club since being relegated to the Premier League with Burnley. The Dutch left-back has now signed a new contract and is committed to West Bromwich Albion until the end of the season. The 18-time international just missed the match against his old employer. Earlier this month, the Baggies and Clarets drew 1-1 in the Championship. At the time, Pieters had already tried out with his new employer.
“I’ve finally found a club and I want to prove myself and show what I still have in me,” said Pieters, who has been training with the team for six weeks now, after his commitment. He explained: “It means a lot to me to have signed here. Everyone knows I’ve been without a club for a while so I’ve been working really hard at home to keep in shape.”
We are delighted to announce the signing of Erik Pieters.
Welcome to Albion, Eric!
