Erica Meiland wants to have a lower eyelid correction performed if the bags under her eyes become even thicker. “If it really starts to bother me, I would have it fixed.”
Although she still looks very good for her 59 years, Erica Meiland notices that she gets thicker bags as the years progress. If that gets even worse, the reality star of SBS 6 might want to do something about it. With a lower eyelid correction, excess fat and skin can be removed.
Erica’s bags
It would be the only surgery Erica would consider. “For example, if I got very thick bags under the eyes, I would have them repaired. But that’s only if it really bothers you. I used to have rather protruding ears, I also had that remedied. I think: if it gets in your way, you should do something about it,” she says in the Weekend.
However, she does not want to become a kind of flattened Linda de Mol. “You can’t stop old age. So wrinkles or something… You just have to accept them. And don’t look in the mirror too much. I always look in the same mirror, so I’m used to that image, but with photos I always think: oh no!”
New teeth
Her beloved Martien and daughter Maxime like to be tinkered with. One has new teeth, the other a new nose. Erica is a little less fanatical about that. “You know, it’s better to accept that you’re becoming less beautiful. You just have to make sure you look well-groomed and then you’ll be fine. You can’t stop time.”
In six months Erica will be 60. “Then you think: how old dude. Your mother is no longer there, so you move up a step, I am well aware of that. When I sometimes see Martien walking, I also say: ‘How crooked you are.’ At such moments I think: we are getting old.”
