Erica Meiland does not rule out the possibility that a gossip magazine like Story simply makes up statements by famous Dutch people. “Maybe Estelle Cruijff didn’t say that at all.”
Martien Meiland has spoken negatively about society woman Estelle Cruijff in his biography. “I met him once in the bar. There she sat with Leco van Zadelhoff. I have nothing to do with that woman. Just a feeling. I can’t explain that,” said the reality star of SBS 6.
Criticism of Martien
A year and a half later, Estelle briefly but firmly returned to this in the Story last week: “I’ve never met that man. Nothing happened between us.”
So a hard denial, with which Martien is implicitly portrayed as a liar. A striking statement, Erica Meiland thinks. She doesn’t rule out the possibility that a tabloid like Story is just making it up, just like she doesn’t trust the Weekend. In that magazine Willem van Hanegem spoke negatively about Martien.
“He’s disgusted by me!”
Martin doesn’t like that at all. “Oh, that wasn’t fun at all! That Willem van Hanegem from the past from Feyenoord! He hates me,” he says in the podcast What Goeeed.
Erica: “That’s something like that. That whole man doesn’t know you at all. Maybe you two could sit at the bar and have a good laugh together.”
Martien: “John, you should listen. Me and my father were and still are fans of Willem van Hanegem, despite the fact that he mentioned this. We were in the cockpit every weekend. He shot that ball with effect and then it went into a kind of curve.”
Sucked up?
Erica does not rule out the possibility that magazines such as Weekend and Story are just making this up. Maybe he didn’t say that himself. That also applies to Estelle Cruijff, who also reacted to you saying that she wasn’t being so nice. That’s just from the book.”
She continues: “Then they bring that up again, but maybe she didn’t say that herself. It’s not important at all, is it?”
Martin: “No, dude.”
Negative
Gossip magazines are very negative, says Martien. That is why he has a section in his podcast in which he ‘gossips positively’. “The tabloids are of course all full of scandals, misery and negativity, so it is high time to take a positive view of the celebrities.”
Erica: “Actually, there is a positive edge to everything. I think it is a pity that it is emphasized too little in the news, eh, but that is also with ordinary news.”
