Erica Meiland is completely done with the discussion about nitrogen. According to the reality star, it is not a problem at all, but we make it a problem. “It does not make any sense!”
In addition to her TV career, Erica Meiland is now also active as a politician. After all, she became a councilor in Noordwijk some time ago. She is now on the Spatial Committee there, she tells The Telegraph† It offers resistance to all kinds of climate and environmental measures. “We are against compulsory off-gassing,” she says.
Nitrogen bullshit
Erica thinks things are going too far in this country. “You shouldn’t force people to do all kinds of craziness for a lot of money. And we are in favor of building, without that fuss about nitrogen,” she says.
Doesn’t Erica think the climate is important? “I am also concerned with the climate. Shout out to Martien ‘no plastic in the garbage can’, but we only make nitrogen emissions a problem in the Netherlands, so that makes no sense.”
Bake sour
Nowadays everything is bad for the climate and the environment, Erica grumbles. She points out that having yourself cremated is already polluting. Such a cremation costs according to GroeneUitvaart.nl ‘between 5 and 25 cubic meters of gas’. “If you really want to think about the environment, it’s better to die young,” the website advises.
How does Erica see this? “Yes, but what are you supposed to do then? In a bowl of acid or something? I certainly don’t want to be in a coffin, because I think that’s a shame. Such a beautiful wooden box and then into the ground.”
