After the staff cover at FC Bayern was very thin recently, coach Julian Nagelsmann hopes for a more relaxed situation after the Christmas break. But the team will probably be missing one player in January as well.
FC Bayern Munich may have to do without striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting until February. The 32-year-old was named to Cameroon’s squad for the Africa Cup. Since the tournament takes place from January 9th to February 6th, the scorer could be missing for about a month. Choupo-Moting was last longer at Bayern due to a corona infection.
Cameroon is one of the favorites to host the football tournament. Recently, there had been repeated speculation that the top European clubs did not want to release their African players because of the corona situation.
Should the clubs decide to stop their games, the tournament will feature prominent names. Sadio Mané (Senegal), Mohamed Salah (Egypt), Riyad Mahrez (Algeria), Franck Kessié (Ivory Coast) and Victor Osimhen (Nigeria) are among them.
