Turkey plans to hold a meeting in the “three plus three” format, said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, transmits Anadolu, citing a statement from its Communications Authority.
The idea to restore peace and stability in the Caucasus was also supported by Iranian President Ibrahim Reisi, with whom Erdogan spoke.
The first meeting of the Three Plus Three Consultative Regional Platform was held in Moscow on December 10, 2021, informed Russian Foreign Ministry website. From Russia it was Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, from Azerbaijan – Khalaf Aly Khalafov. Vahe Gevorkyan came from Armenia, Sedat Onal came from Turkey. Iran was represented by Foreign Ministry Director General Alirez Hagigian. Representatives of Georgia refused to participate.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the development of regional cooperation in terms of increasing confidence, interaction in the trade, economic, transport, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as confronting common challenges and threats.
