ERC, PSC and Alternativa per Ripoll-CUP have announced a pact on Monday night to prevent the extreme right-wing independentista d’Aliança Catalana from governing the municipality’s town hall.
“Given the the population expressed the desire for a change on 28-M and given the inability to obtain support to govern by the other formations, an agreement has been reached for a progressive governmentwhich would allow governability for the next four years”, affirm the three formations.

The agreement, which will be explained this Tuesday at a press conference, does not include, however, the councilors of Junts. The Ripoll delegation of the party has not yet ruled, despite the fact that the national leadership opted in the morning to join the coalition.
After days of meetings and pressure to try to prevent the extreme right -the force that got the most votes with 6 of the 11 councilors- from governing in the capital of Ripollès, ERC, PSC and CUP have agreed to do it together. ERC, with 3 councillors, and the PSC and CUP, with 2 respectively, do not, however, reach the 9 councilors that are needed to achieve an absolute majority. Therefore, it remains to be seen what Junts and his 3 councilors end up doing.
