ERC Munich celebrates two wins in two days

Red Bull Munich successfully defied the mammoth program in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

Just 24 hours after the home win against ERC Ingolstadt (4-0), coach Don Jackson’s team won 3-2 (0-0, 2-1, 0-1, 1-0) at the Straubing Tigers on Wednesday Renewal. Trevor Parkes scored the extra point (65′).

It was the fourth win in a row for the Red Bulls, who will play their fifth game in eight days on Friday. The Munich team consolidated third place behind the defending champions Eisbären Berlin and the Grizzlys Wolfsburg, who won 4-0 (0-0, 2-0, 2-0) at the Bietigheim Steelers.

Fourth are the Adler Mannheim after a 2:1 (0:0, 1:0, 0:1, 1:0) after extra time at the Nürnberg Ice Tigers. Meanwhile, the Augsburg Panthers suffered another setback in the relegation battle with a 1:5 (0:1, 1:2, 0:2) against the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven.

After Straubing’s lead by Andreas Eder (32′), Parkes (37′) and Austin Ortega (40′) turned the game around for Munich. Travis St. Denis forced overtime (48′), then Parkes struck again.
