In this celebration of the fifth anniversary of 1-O, the coverage of TV-3 has no longer been devoted to ‘cheerleaders’. It has been informatively much more adjusted. Instead of fervent, it has been descriptive. In other words, we are getting closer to the journalistic story, and not to the religiosity of the altar boy. I celebrate it very much.
In the calculation of attendees, for example, in the ‘TN’ they labeled: “They have gathered 11,000 people according to the Urban Guard.” No written trace of the 60,000 that the organizers tried to divulge. The final summary was also significant. The chronicle at the foot of the demonstration warned: “Expectations have not been met.” And they have not spared us close-ups of angry banners against TV-3 itself, designated as ‘Manipuladora’, and with the letters ER (Esquerra Republicana) followed by the ‘Ñ’ of ‘ñordos’, an insult that the radical ‘processisme’ used to denigrate ‘unionism’. That they also added the slogan ‘Ja no és la nostra’ shows that the most rabid sector of Junts rejects TV-3 because it considers that it is no longer at the service of Waterloo. oh! It is evident: ERC has already established itself in the main force that moves TV-3however in the ‘Telenotícies’ the first image, the opening, has been dedicated to Puigdemont, giving it informative priority over the speech by the Aragonese president. In other words, in Sant Joan Despí there is still an ember of parishioners at the service of Junts x Waterloo, which is resisting.

But clearly now where they roam freely is in the portions of ‘pizza al taglio’ (‘El pentagon’ and ‘Fax’) that they have acquired on 8TV. There, with Laura Borràs as the star guest, they still promoted the mirage: “Independence in Catalonia is the majority!”. At that same time on TV-3 they gave us real data on what is happening, and they offered us the latest graphic from the CEO (Centre d’Estudis d’Opinió de la Generalitat de Catalunya) in which it is pointed out that the independence movement is in a 37.5% right now.
The most powerful thing, on television, about this 1-O has been to see the images of the beatings on a loop again. If Rajoy and his people hadn’t been so grumpy, and so useless, ordering repression and blows against the citizens, today, on 1-O, on TV there would only be the memory of a joyful and festive vote, but folkloric and anecdotal , given that it did not obtain any international recognition.
