Highlight for equestrian sports: The 2026 Equestrian World Championships will take place in the Aachen Soers.
The world equestrian sports association FEI announced this on Sunday night as part of its annual congress in Mexico City. Aachen was the only candidate in five of six competitions. The world’s equestrian elite will now compete in the disciplines of jumping, dressage, eventing, para-dressage, vaulting and driving in the Soers in 2026.
“We would like to thank the FEI for their trust,” said Michael Mronz, Managing Director of the CHIO Aachen: “We want to invite the entire equestrian world to Aachen today to celebrate an unforgettable event together in 2026.” Hans-Joachim Erbel, President of the German Equestrian Association (FN), spoke of a “great sign for equestrian sport in Germany and the whole world.”
Aachen, which hosts one of the most internationally renowned equestrian sports tournaments every year, the CHIO, last hosted the World Equestrian Games in 2006.
