Ahlmann prevailed in the jump-off on Saturday (May 28, 2022) in the Derby Park in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek. He shot clean in the jump-off and set the fastest time of 50.51 seconds.
Second place was shared by European Champion André Thieme on Chakaria and the Irishman Michael Pender on Calais (both 0/51.33). In the normal course, eight couples remained clear.
Five German couples in the jump-off
Fourth was Mario Stevens from Molbergen on Starissa. A total of five German riders had reached the jump-off. Marcus Ehning from Borken on Stargold and Gerrit Nieberg from Sendenhorst on Blues d’Aveline finished fifth and sixth after a knockdown in the decisive round.
Hamburg was the sixth of 15 stations in the million series. After the successes of Ludger Beerbaum in Doha and Mexico City and Katrin Eckermann, Ahlmann ensured the fourth German victory this year.
