The world elite of show jumping and dressage will be guests at the international horse show in Neumünster until Sunday. Will Janne Meyer win the Riders Tour? The NDR broadcasts live on two days.
At the 72nd edition of the traditional tournament, the main focus is on the Grand Prix on Sunday. Because then the decision will be made as to who will be “Rider of the Year”. Before the final eighth stage, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (Pinneberg), who won the prestigious series in 2015, leads the ranking with 57 points. They are followed by Sophie Hinners, who was born in Lower Saxony (43 points) and the Dane Mathias Norhaeden, who has lived in Elmshorn for years (36 points).
NDR broadcasts live on Saturday and Sunday
Like the top trio, Mario Stevens will also be there in Neumünster. The show jumper from Molbergen, who triumphed in the Grand Prix at the VR Classics in 2020, has 23 points to his credit. A win earns 20 points, second place 17, and 15th place earns one point.
The sports club will show the decision on Sunday from 3.45 p.m. to 5 p.m. live on TV and here on NDR.de as well as the championship on Saturday (4 p.m. to 4.45 p.m.).
Dressage World Cup stops again
A total of four world ranking competitions will be held from Thursday at the horse show in the Holstenhallen, which will take place in full for the first time in two years due to the pandemic.
The Dressage World Cup (Sunday, 10 a.m.) is also making a stop and, like show jumping, attracts the world’s best to Schleswig-Holstein. The World Cup finals will take place in Omaha (USA) in early April. Ahead of Neumünster, Isabell Werth (Rheinberg) is at the top of the Western Europe League overall rankings, Ingrid Klimke (Münster) is second after eight of eleven stops.
