Equestrian center Sleen looking for a new location

The riding school in Sleen would like to move. The building is outdated and has also been completely built in in recent years by the new Jongbloed district. The riding association will look for a new location together with the municipality of Coevorden.

The riding school has been there since 1966 and the riding association plans to continue it for a long time, says chairman Mike Brandt. A new location is therefore necessary, “Last weekend there was a mutual dressage competition here. There are three hundred people walking around. Riders with parents and grandparents. You shouldn’t lose that, I think.”

In addition, the current building needs to be replaced. “For the new regulations, the stables will soon have to be a bit larger. That’s not a problem, but it has to be done. And it would be nice if the boxes were a bit larger, so that you can at least organize a normal competition again. “, says Brandt.

There is room for 32 new-build homes on the site of the riding school. It is not yet clear where the new riding school will be located.
