Equal opportunities: TH Lübeck awarded the TOTAL E-QUALITY award for the fifth time

The TOTAL E-QUALITY award recognizes companies and organizations from business, science and administration for their commitment to anchoring and expanding equal opportunities and diversity within the company.

Exemplary equality work

The central equal opportunities officer at TH Lübeck, Dr. Daphne Reim, is happy about the awards: We have organized and moved a lot at the TH Lübeck in recent years, such as the online qualification series ‘Gender Competence’, the ‘mentoring program Prof:Me’, the participation with a stand of the TH Lübeck at the CSD Lübeck, the expulsion of all gender toilets or the tried and tested annual ‘trial course’ ‘I’m going to be an engineer’ for young women aged 15 and over. I am pleased that many members from all status groups at TH Lübeck are committed to equal opportunities and diversity at TH Lübeck.

Consistent expansion of equal opportunities and diversity

TH Lübeck has been committed to equal opportunities and diversity for over ten years. This commitment is recognized by TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland eV, which awarded the university with the TEQ award for the fifth time after 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019. In its reasoning, the jury praised, among other things: “Equal opportunities as a principle of the university’s actions is anchored in its constitution. Equality as well as diversity and inclusion are identified as cross-sectional fields at TH Lübeck. The TH Lübeck implements organization-specific measures in all fields of action and has laid the foundation for their consistent expansion with forward-looking concepts at a central level.”

“We would like to thank all award winners for their commitment,” says Dr. Ulla Weber, CEO of TOTAL E-QUALITY. “They are outstanding examples of an equal opportunity personnel policy that is oriented towards current and future challenges. (…) They present themselves as attractive employers in the competition for committed, qualified specialists. Scientific institutions also emphasize equal opportunities as part of their excellence.”

Criteria for successful award

Organizations from business, science and administration as well as associations with at least 15 employees can apply for the TOTAL E-QUALITY award. The application includes attitudes, strategies, measures and monitoring. An independent jury examines on behalf of the association and decides who receives an award. Criterion: Consensus between economic interests and equal opportunities. The rating is valid for 3 years. The institutions receive another award if they demonstrate sustainable progress.
