The first broadcast of the new television program The brothers Van Rossem van Maarten and Vincent van Rossem takes place in Emmen and will be broadcast on August 30.
The brothers visit, among other things, the post-war reconstruction districts. The theme of the episode is energy and fuel. “The discovery of peat, petroleum and gas have strongly determined the history of Emmen and the surrounding area. In their own way, Maarten and Vincent van Rossem delve into the rise and fall of the region on the basis of fossil fuels,” says spokesperson Karlijn Joosten of NTR.
The Van Rossem brothers worked with their sister Sis for a long time Here are the Van Rossems. The trio visited a different city each time for this programme. They showed each other special buildings and places and told the stories that go with them. Last year Sis van Rossem passed away. Both her brothers decided to continue with the program, but in an adapted form and under a different title.
In addition to Emmen, Maarten and Vincent also travel to Texel, The Hague, Nijmegen and Wageningen. Both grew up in Wageningen. Each place they visit is linked to a specific theme, such as energy, nature or housing. This season, the historian and architectural historian will also engage in conversation with residents and stakeholders.
The first episode will be broadcast on NPO 2 on Wednesday 30 August at 8.30 pm.
