E&O shows character and wins meeting with EHC

HANDBALL – The gentlemen of E&O have managed to score a point on a visit to EHC from The Hague, 23-23. The team from Emmen managed to make up for a large deficit in a strong second half. E&O remains in 8th place in the Eredivisie due to the draw.

In the first half, the focus of the Emmen was not sharp. Great opportunities were missed and the opponent finished the opportunities. After 20 minutes, trainer/coach Henrik Bergholt’s team was already behind by 6 points. Before the break, the margin to the Hagenaren could be narrowed somewhat to an 11-7 halftime score.

After the break it seemed as if another team was on the field. From a 12-14 deficit, E&O made 5 points in a row, so that the Emmen suddenly had control. However, the home team also turned out to be able to take a different approach, making this encounter a real battle. With 5 minutes left on the clock, the scoreboard was 21-21. The tension was clearly visible in both teams and the difference could not be made anymore. The game ended in a 23-23 tie.

Next week a long trip to Geleen is planned. E&O will then take on the last one, Vlug and Leig.
