E&O loses lead against Aalsmeer

HANDBALL – E&O from Emmen has drawn 28-28 against sub-topper Aalsmeer 2. Henrik Bergholt’s team had built up a four-point lead at half-time, but was unable to hold on to it. As a result, E&O remains seventh in the Eredivisie with 25 points.

E&O played fiercely and to loud cheers from the crowd, the team from Emmen had managed to achieve a 17-13 lead at halftime. After the break, the home team was unable to continue the strong start and the physically strong Aalsmeer increased the pressure. Keeper Wouter Sijpkes managed to prevent the equalizer for a long time, but several errors on the side of the Emmenaren allowed Aalsmeer to come alongside.

Just before time, E&O even fell behind for a while, but top scorer Koen Schoenmaker managed to save a point in the last minute of the game. E&O will return to action on April 20, when the team will visit Dynamico, which is in fourteenth place.
