In view of the persistent drought, Brandenburg’s Ministry of the Environment has started implementing the low-water concept for 16 river areas in the state. After the extreme low water in the summer months of 2019 to 2020, 50 measures for the prevention and management of low water and water shortages were defined in the concept, the ministry announced today. The aim is to minimize the drainage of areas and to record and adjust the withdrawal of water.
