AMSTERDAM – Contrary to the idea that biomass for energy comes from wood waste and twigs, large piles of logs are waiting for the incinerators at dozens of European power plants and wood pellet producers. This is apparent from an inventory by the Forest Defenders Alliance, an international partnership of more than a hundred NGOs.
