Volendam is back in the Eredivisie and everyone should know. The fishing village is delirious with joy after the win against FC Den Bosch (1-2). Well after midnight the players bus was met by a large elated crowd, where a huge party broke out.
Josh Flint and Robert Mühren were the heroes of the evening: their goals ensured that FC Volendam returns to the highest level after thirteen years. “This is what I came for”, shouted Daryl van Mieghem afterwards. He just missed promotion with De Graafschap last year. “This was the mission we had. If it succeeds: fantastic!”
