Many are the professionals who studied for years for a degree and filled with desire and enthusiasm the projects that would materialize upon graduating from the University. But it turns out that the years have passed and they don’t know how they find themselves doing a job that doesn’t fully satisfy them. The monotony of the routine seems to have swept away those dreamy years.
A light at the end of the tunnel
After having helped hundreds of professionals to walk the path of their career, today I know that it is important to follow a series of steps to be able to guide the practice according to our interests and knowledge.
The first thing is to think about yourself. In a world where intimacy seems to cease to exist, we forget to find a space alone to talk with our desire.
This is always the pillar of a good professional practice exercised with awareness and enjoyment. Thinking about yourself involves asking yourself what you would like your career to be like, what field you would like to work in, what you have more training in and what you would like to do. Even asking you how many hours a day and what days of the week you want to work and, why not, how much you want to earn.
What comes next is setting short- and long-term goals. For those whose current reality does not match where they want to be, globalization and social networks make it easy for us to be able to train and work anywhere in the world. Knowing where you would like to take your professional career, two questions arise: What are your goals for the coming year? How far do you want to go with your career? As long as you know your north, you can build a path step by step to get there.
Finally, an action strategy is needed to achieve those objectives. Taking action is essential to achieve results, so it is key to think about how you are going to do it. Ask yourself what is the most urgent thing you need to achieve today in order to achieve your next goal.
Today it is possible to build your professional reality and enjoy it.
