Enhanced Games for Coe “Nonsense”

The President of the World Athletics Federation, Sebastian Coe, has described the announced Enhanced Games as “nonsense”. “I can’t get excited about it,” Coe said in Glasgow, Scotland. The World Indoor Athletics Championships take place there from Friday to Sunday.

A number of billionaires are planning to stage world record hunts using doping substances. They lure athletes with a lot of money: a million US dollars as a bonus for a world record. If someone was stupid enough and felt they had to participate, they would be banned for a long time, Coe said.

You occasionally experience crazy things, Coe said. But that’s why he doesn’t have sleepless nights.

Five core categories of sports were selected for their Enhanced Games: athletics, martial arts, strength and water sports, and gymnastics. It is still unclear whether they should be held annually. The President of the Enhanced Games believes that his event project will create the guild’s Olympic Games.
