English church Haarlem prays for British Queen Elizabeth after news about health

The English church in Haarlem is praying for the British today Queen Elizabeth II. Today it became clear that the English head of state is not doing well and that all her children have been summoned to Balmoral, the castle where she now resides. In Haarlem, too, they are concerned about the Queen’s fragile health.

“I just heard the news. I only know that Prince Charles and his wife are with her. The situation seems worrying. Of course we pray for her,” said priest Bruce Rienstra.

No special service has been scheduled yet, but the church has plans in place if the Queen – officially the head of the Church of England – passes away. “But we now pray that it is not that far yet,” said Rienstra.
