England’s ‘result will go around the world’

The English women’s semi-final gala not only delighted their fans. The trainer and a prince were also impressed.

A clear 4:0 against Sweden brought the English women around Sarina Wiegman into the final of the European Championship. The coach then praised her team: “The result will go around the world. It was a performance that everyone will talk about tomorrow. I think we’ve shown that we’re robust. We’re going to celebrate a bit now.”

The final also inspires the British heir to the throne Prince William. He wrote on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Twitter account on Tuesday evening: “Congratulations Lionesses on reaching the finals on Sunday. The whole country is so proud of everything you are achieving. We believe in you and we will have you accompany you all the way!”

The women of FC Bayern also congratulated, writing in a tweet: “Finals !! Congratulations Georgia Stanway and Lionesses.” The England international is under contract with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
