England stick to playing attire

The English Football Association FA intends to implement the demand from its national players for non-white shorts at a later date. At the next European Championship game against Norway on Monday, the “Lionesses” would again appear completely in white, the association announced on Saturday. After the 1-0 win against Austria, the players had asked for differently colored shorts to avoid awkward situations during the period.

“We recognize the importance and want our players to feel our full support on this issue,” emphasized the association. “Any feedback from them will be taken into account for the future design.” They will work closely with outfitter Nike and at the same time meet the requirements of the European Football Union UEFA as the organizer of the European Championships.

Midfielder Georgia Stanway, who will play at Bayern Munich from the new season, had previously said: “We know it’s difficult because we all associate England with white. But it’s something that affects us as women.” You can imagine that there will be a color change in the new season.

For the German team, white trousers are only the third choice. She usually plays in black or green shorts at the European Championships. (dpa)
